NMC Releases Breast Cancer Awareness Dance Video

This October, NMC is spreading a message of hope and support for breast cancer survivors with a dance video showing off the fancy footwork of staff from all around the hospital and outpatient clinics.

“The the hospital came together and did this for the people that we love, and that is just a huge message that we sent out to the staff and the community,” said Deirdre Young, NMC’s Director of Surgical Services who danced with her team in the video.

Hundreds of staff members took part, learning the choreography built by Rachel Bilodeau of Studio3. Staff rehearsed throughout the summer, and then spent the month of September in taping sessions with tremendous help from Paul Snyder and Northwest Access TV.

“The collaboration with Rachel and Paul made this project a success,” said Kate Laddison, Community Relations Specialist. “This is what it’s all about, the community coming together to share a powerful message – prevention is the key.”

To support that critical message encouraging early detection, NMC is launching a companion campaign, asking community members to think about their “MAMMOtivation” – their reason to get well, be well and stay well. People who share their MAMMOtivation when they come in for a mammogram this October and November will be entered to win a $300 spa package to Mystic Waters Day Spa.
