Help Us Keep NMC Accessible During the Eclipse

NMC will be open on Monday, April 8 during the solar eclipse. While some of our outpatient clinics will be closed, Urgent Care and hospital services will be open to serve the community.

With the anticipated influx of visitors to our area, we are up-staffing to handle a potential increase in patients. It is critically important that our staff can get to and from the hospital and that emergency services can transfer patients to and from NMC.

Parking and traffic flow on our campus will be limited to people who work at NMC, or who are getting services here.

Please help us keep our operations open and safe on Monday by staying clear of our campus unless you need care.

As you prepare for the solar eclipse, remember the important safety tips shared by Dr. Greg Brophey of Northwestern Opthalmology: “If you want to observe the eclipse, view the sun through eclipse glasses or an approved handheld solar viewer during the partial eclipse phases before and after totality. Eclipse glasses are NOT regular sunglasses; regular sunglasses, no matter how dark, are not safe.  Eclipse glasses are thousands of times darker and must comply with the ISO 12312-2 international standard.”
