At NMC we care for the entire person. To support our patients’ emotional needs, we offer both music and pet therapy programs. It is important that we keep you happy and comfortable during your stay, these are small events that we hope can bring a smile to your faces and hearts.
Kathryn Kuba Dandurand is a Certified Harp Therapy Practitioner who is present at NMC on Mondays from about 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m and on Thursdays from about 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Kathryn will play for patients and their families upon request, using her music as a tool to promote emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual healing. Just ask a member of our Nursing or Concierge Staff to direct Kathryn to play for you during her time spent here. On occasion, other musicians will also share their talents with our patients here at NMC.
For many people, animals have a distinct ability to improve spirits. Highly trained dogs certified by Therapy Dogs of Vermont may visit our patients with permission. In addition, patients with special pets of their own can arrange a visit in the hospital by following our guidelines. If you’d like to arrange a visit, please ask your nurse or a Concierge for assistance.
