Welcome to Pulmonology
We’re here to help you breathe easier. Northwestern Pulmonology makes sure you can get expert care for your lungs and breathing system, right here close to home. You no longer have to travel far to see a specialist. Our team is proud to serve our community with the care you need, when you need it.
What we treat
We care for people with a variety of breathing and lung problems, including:
- Asthma—helping you manage flare-ups and breathe more comfortably
- COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)—offering support and treatments to improve your quality of life
- Pulmonary function testing—testing how well your lungs work so we can better understand your needs
- Other breathing issues—helping with chronic cough, shortness of breath, or lung concerns that don’t go away
If you or a loved one is having trouble breathing, we’re here to help.
Expert care close to home
Our pulmonology team is led by Dr. Nsour and Dr. Chaucer. They are fellowship-trained in critical care medicine, which means they completed advanced training to care for people with serious breathing problems.
They bring:
- Fellowship-level training in treating complex lung and respiratory conditions
- Experience caring for patients both in the hospital and in the clinic
- A focus on helping you feel better and avoid hospital stays whenever possible
- The knowledge and skill to manage even the most challenging breathing problems
Where to find us
Our office is inside the Medical Clinics Building at Northwestern Medical Center. We’re in the same space as Northwestern OB/GYN and the Cardiology team, so it’s easy to find and convenient if you see other specialists at NMC.

If it is and you’d like to schedule a telemedicine visit, we will then give you instructions on how to make the connection, which will use NMC’s Patient Portal Virtual Visit functionality.

Better sleep, better health
Our pulmonology team works closely with the Northwestern Sleep Center to care for patients whose health and daily life are affected by trouble sleeping or staying asleep. The Sleep Center offers overnight testing in private, comfortable rooms located right at the hospital. Sleep studies help diagnose a variety of sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, snoring, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, and more.
