NMC Auxiliary
Our Auxiliary’s Mission is to support NMC through fund-raising and positive community relations.
The NMC Auxiliary was formed by and for people who have a common commitment to the goals of the hospital and a concern for the health of the communities it serves. The Auxiliary works to promote goodwill on behalf of NMC. We enhance the delivery of quality care through the NMC Volunteer Program.
Membership in the Auxiliary is open to all. Annual dues are $10. The general membership meets four times each year. Meetings include a meal, special guest speaker and a business meeting. They are held in September, November, February and April. The Auxiliary is governed by a Board of Directors which consists of 15 volunteer members.
The gift gallery & other special projects
NMC’s Gift Gallery is a large source of income for the Auxiliary. It is managed by the hospital liaison and volunteers. The shop is open Monday through Friday selling women’s accessories; a variety of baby items including stuffed animals, fresh flowers, books and candy to name just a few.
The Auxiliary also hosts several fundraisers throughout the year.
The Auxiliary’s impact
Over the years, the Auxiliary has raised funds to purchase equipment and items that have enhanced healthcare services and the healing environment at NMC. Some of the recent purchases include:
$65,000 to NMC’s Surgical Services team in support of anesthesia technology
$31,000 to the Restaurant and Catering team for a new patient meal delivery system that includes trays, dishes, drinkware and more
$10,000 to the Emergency Department for the expansion of the staff breakroom in the renovation project
$100,000 donation to the 2016 Capital Campaign
$20,000 to support two patient rooms in the Progressive Care Unit
