Joint Commission National Quality Awards
Similarly, the NMC staff has earned numerous annual “Top Performer” awards from the Joint Commission in recognition of excellence of care.
National Patient Satisfaction Awards
The NMC staff has earned numerous prestigious national Avatar awards that recognize our outstanding patient satisfaction scores year after year including awards for “Exceeding Patient Expectations.”
Excellence in Obstetrics
NMC’s Family Birth Center and Northwestern OB/GYN have earned the prestigious international designation of “Baby Friendly” (joining St. Johnsbury as the only Vermont hospitals to achieve this status) for their best-practice approach to welcoming our communities newest members and supporting the mother/baby bond throughout the birthing process. In addition, the Birth Center has earned “Blue Distinction Plus” from BC/BS of Vermont for excellence and cost efficiency!
Innovative Technology
NMC has been named one of the “Most Wired” hospitals, by the American Hospital Association’s Health Forum multiple times. This honors NMC’s use of technology to improve the efficiency of care delivery and create a new dynamic in patient interactions. NMC also earned multiple LEAP Award for our efforts in leveraging strategic financial planning software to drive efficiency and reduce hours spent on creating our annual budget.
Excellence in Diagnostic Imaging
NMC is an American College of Radiology designated Lung Cancer Screening Center, recognizing our commitment to safe, effective diagnostic care for individuals at the highest risk for lung cancer.
Employee Wellness
NMC’s employee wellness program, Healthy Ü, has been honored every year since 2005 with the Gold Standard Award for Worksite Wellness by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness.
Leadership
NMC was recognized by Quorum Health Resources for Excellence in Leadership, citing our rate reduction, strong productivity, and approval of construction projects with the state.
