Meet Melissa Keelty, PT

NMC has a large team of therapists in our Rehab Services Department with a wide range of specialties and interests. We believe that our people are what make our organization special and want help you get to know them a bit better. Here is one of our talented team!

Melissa Keelty, PT

How many years have you worked at NMC? 23

What kinds of issues do you help patients with?

We see a wide variety of patients from orthopedics, neuro, vertigo, etc.

What do you like best about your job?

I love working at the Enosburg Satellite clinic as we serve a large area of patients. We treat a lot of variety of diagnosis as well as age groups.  I have amazingly supportive coworkers who are ready to help anytime I need it.  We are a great team.

What common questions do you get asked by patients?

What did I do to cause this problem? How long before I am better?

What is something people may not know about your work?

We are skilled in exercises prescriptions as well as manual techniques to treat a wide variety of issues.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I enjoy skiing in the winter, boating in the summer, and spending time with my family and new grandson, Rowan. He’s 1 years old, and lives in St. Albans so I get to see him quite frequently – but never enough for a Gramma! We spend our summers on a boat we keep at the North Hero marina named “Happy Ours.”

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring three things, what would they be?

Coffee, a hammock, and sunscreen.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure food/treat?

Nachos. I have never met a Nacho I didn’t like!  I like a wide variety of toppings but mostly guacamole! The Village Tavern is probably my favorite place to get them with the Buffalo chicken.

Name three things we’d find in your car.

Reusable bags, a phone charger, and change.
