Meet Amy Severance, Physical Therapist

NMC has a large team of therapists in our Rehab Services Department with a wide range of specialties and interests. We believe that our people are what make our organization special and want help you get to know them a bit better. Here is one of our talented team!

How many years have you worked at NMC? 27

What kinds of issues do you help patients with?
I work in our Enosburg satellite clinic with patients of all ages and problems including orthopedic and neurological etiologies. The onset can be acute or chronic involving the neck, shoulders, back, hips, knees or ankles. I will evaluate your loss of ROM, strength deficits and posture to determine the best program for you to help you with your recovery.

What do you like best about your job?
I love to work with people and get them to believe they can reduce their pain and improve their function when they do their exercises and improve their posture.

What common questions do you get asked by patients?
How long do I have to do these exercises?

What is something people may not know about your work?
Our goal is not to increase your pain level. The right exercises can make you better!

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
I love to spend time with my family, our labs, hiking and sunsets!

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring three things, what would they be?
I would bring a hammock, a good book and a cold adult beverage.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure food/treat?
Chocolate and peanut butter dessert.

Name three things we’d find in your car.
Change, hand sanitizer, expired coupons.
