NMC Awards Nursing Scholarships to Four Students

As part of a continuing partnership with Vermont Tech and the Community College of Vermont, NMC recently awarded four nursing scholarships to local Vermont Tech nursing students. Stephanie Preedom, Karen Macia, Meyshar Mathieu and Kaitlin Carty accepted the scholarships and start school this fall.

These four students are joining a scholarship program sponsored by Northwestern Medical Center as part of an effort to increase local nursing opportunities. Tuition is awarded to qualified students who, in return, agree to work at NMC post-graduation.

Local students of the program now take classes in the new building located at Congress and Main Streets in St. Albans as CCV has moved from their previous location on South Main Street. The new space is larger, allowing Vermont Tech to increase student numbers in St. Albans.

The four new scholarship students join two others who are now completing their Licensed Practical Nurse year of school and graduate next May as RNs who will join the team at NMC.
