After significant work on staffing and review of NMC’s patient care volumes and the community situation, NMC is restoring elective outpatient surgeries and procedures beginning Monday (10/25/21). For elective inpatient surgeries, given the continued near-capacity census, we will have those on the schedule beginning on Monday (10/25/21) and manage those on day-by-day basis.

We are grateful for the efforts and flexibility of our staff to meet community need during the most recent challenges. We also appreciate the understanding of our patients as NMC, like all Vermont hospitals, works through this pandemic in the face of a national nursing shortage. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and our staffing and adapt the approach as necessary.
