We are looking for experienced nurses to help plan and implement care for our patients in a range of workplace settings. Whether you are interested in helping shape our new Progressive Care Unit, provide care in our Family Birth Center or Emergency Department, or help assist with specialty surgical procedures, we would like to hear from you. Join our team and help advance the level of care possible right here, close to home.

Inpatient and ICU

Our new inpatient unit features 34 private rooms with 10 of them currently ICU-capable. We benefit from Tele-ICU support from the renowned Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and close proximity to the University of Vermont Medical Center. Our Chief Nursing Officer holds years of proven experience with a shared governance model.

Family Birth Center

Join us as we help support women through personalized birth experiences. You’ll enjoy working on our private birth center which offers spacious rooms, couplet care, a labor tub and many other amenities. We have also been recognized at the national/international level as our staff earned the prestigious “Baby Friendly” designation – joining St. Johnsbury as the only Vermont hospitals to achieve that level of excellence focused on supporting new moms and newborns.

Surgical Services

Join our award-winning Surgical Services department, providing our community with a range of specialty, minimally invasive procedures ranging from arthroscopic knee surgery to cataract surgery.

Here’s what some of our nurses have to say:

Meet Emily
Emily has been an RN for eight years, and has spent three of those years here at NMC. She values the time she gets to spend with her family and enjoys so many things about living in Vermont—especially the abundance of hiking opportunities.

“A good day at work is when teamwork and solidarity turn adversity into positive patient outcomes!”

“Come join a team who maintains a vocation of: ‘caring for those who cannot care for themselves.'”

—Dawn Kregel, DNP, Chief Nurse Executive
