NMC’s Gift Gallery Reopens This Week

This week, NMC’s Gift Gallery will reopen for business after having been temporarily closed during construction. The hospital gift shop is just one of the services located in the main lobby that has been temporarily relocated while the front entrance is reconstructed.

The Gift Gallery’s temporary location is now open for business once again, and you can find the shop across from NMC’s Switchboard desk, near the elevators to the Family Birth Center.

Last week’s work on the main entrance included hanging sheetrock for the interior of the new lobby and painting will begin soon. The stone work on the new porte cochere pillars has also begun and NMC remains on track to reopen this entrance to the public in early December.

The reopening of the main entrance is a major milestone in NMC’s Master Facility Plan construction. When the entrance is once again open, the road from Fairfield Street to the front doors will also be open and a newly widened road looping past the entrance to the Emergency Department will come into use.

Patients and visitors will once again use the front doors to access hospital services after the reopening in December. An important note, however: The Outpatient Lab will remain in its temporary location in Doctors Office Commons #1. The Outpatient Lab will eventually be located in the new Medical Office Building along with Northwestern Primary Care and Northwestern Urgent Care. That new building will not be completed until June and until that time patients needing bloodwork will still visit Doctors Office Commons
