Looking for New PFAC Members!

NMC is looking for a few new members to join our Patient & Family Advisory Council!

The Council seeks to foster an environment where patients, families, and hospital staff work together to improve the quality and safety of care at NMC. The PFAC works in partnership with NMC’s Quality and Safety Committee to strengthen communication, share feedback on care from the perspective of patients and family, identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, and provide feedback on practices, policies and materials that support patient and family engagement.

The group meets once per month and engages in active dialogue and solutions-based project work. Here is the thoughts of one of our members on the power of the PFAC.

“I joined the Patient and Family Advisory Council because I missed being part of a hospital after we relocated from Virginia. As a medical social worker, I’ve worked across multiple medical environments; I value being connected to the systems that shape patient experiences, and I appreciate having a meaningful outlet for my perspective. Everyone has feedback after a medical visit—both positive and negative—but it often stays within conversations with family and friends. PFAC offers a unique opportunity to understand the “why” behind hospital processes and to see how patient and family feedback can directly inform decisions and lead to real, tangible improvements.” — Robyn Klein
