Volunteer opportunities

Administrative Support: The Volunteer Department and other hospital departments seek administrative support from Volunteers for various light-duty, time-sensitive projects like mailings and other tasks. 

Auxiliary Gift Gallery: Our Gift Gallery is staffed by Volunteers. Our merchandise consists of women’s and men’s accessories, specialty gifts, jewelry, stuffed animals, baby items, children’s books and toys, health and beauty products, candy, flowers and other various seasonal specialty items. We welcome those who enjoy this type of atmosphere as a volunteer.

Cobblestone Information Desk: At the Cobblestone building, Volunteers welcome, greet and direct patients who are arriving for services in the building.

Courtyard Café: We have breakfast and afternoon shifts available for Volunteers who want to help our Restaurant and Catering Department. We operate the point-of-sale register, and offer support with other light duties and tasks as appropriate. 

Couriers: Couriers support the Outpatient Lab, Medical Clinics, Emergency Department, Surgical Services and the Family Birth Center by retrieving patient samples that need to be delivered in a timely manner to our main lab for processing for patient care. They also help ensure that important paperwork is delivered from one hospital department to another in a timely manner or to the mail room for processing. For those who like a fast-paced task, this role is for you.

Main Hospital Entrance Information Desk: Volunteers are in the main hospital entrance. We greet the community, and offer our support for those looking for their destination. Coming to the hospital can be a confusing time for people, and we are here as friendly helpers.

Medical Office Building Information Desk: Volunteers greet patients and visitors at who arrive at the Medical Office Building entrance for services. Coming to the hospital can be a confusing time for people, and we are here as friendly helpers.

 

 
 

Pet Therapy: Highly trained dogs certified by Therapy Dogs of Vermont and Therapy Dogs International that are appropriate for the hospital setting are put on the Pet Therapy schedule to visit our patients when appropriate. 

Physical Therapy Clinic in Enosburg: In our Enosburg Physical Therapy satellite office, Volunteers welcome, greet and direct patients who are coming for services in the building. 

Surgical Services: Volunteers in Surgical Services support the Patient Registration team and Operating Room staff by helping to greet patients who arrive for surgery in our waiting area. We escort patients and family as appropriate to and from their pre-op rooms.
