Sarah Nielsen, PT

Sarah graduated from the University of Vermont Physical Therapy program in 1997 and has been a Physical Therapist at Northwestern Medical Center since that year.

In addition to a general sports and orthopedic background, she has attended the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institution training. She also attended continuing education courses in a variety of orthopedic rehab topics as well as wound care, muscle energy techniques, shoulder rehabilitation, foot orthotic use and fabrication, Postural Restoration, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization as well as Vestibular Rehabilitation.  Sarah can be found at all of Rehabilitation Services locations and often covers for therapist vacations. Her current role is as clinical supervisor and in this role she is passionate about the patient experience, collaborating with orthopedics and clinical staff education.

Sarah was born and raised in Swanton and lives there now with her husband and two sons.  She is an active volunteer in the community and enjoys watching her children participate in athletics, walking, swimming, downhill skiing and traveling.

Sarah has a professional certification in healthcare administration and leadership from the University of Vermont
