Charitable giving

Gift giving

Donor gifts allow us to fulfill our mission of providing exceptional health care for our community. Donations from patients, friends, and co-workers help us keep pace with the rapid advancement of health care technology while reducing our reliance on debt. They help us provide medical care for people who can’t afford it, supportive end of life care for those who are dying, and scholarships for local future health care workers. At the same time, donations help individuals and businesses create lasting tributes to important people in their lives. These gifts highlight the donor’s generosity and may qualify for charitable tax deductions.

The history of charitable giving

A culture of philanthropy exists at the heart and soul of Northwestern Medical Center. The first St. Albans Hospital was the result of a gift of property from Chauncy Warner, creating the second hospital in the State of Vermont. The creation of Kerbs Memorial Hospital was made possible by the generosity of Jeanne Kerbs, following her son’s tragic accident in 1942. The merger of these two institutions created Northwestern Medical Center. Click here to access our on-line secure donation form.
