Medical Clinics Building Structure Erected

Last week structural steel was erected for the Medical Clinics Building at NMC, the addition that sits closest to the hospital’s new main entrance. While that building takes shape next to the new porte cochere very visible at the front of campus, the foundation footings and walls are being poured and backfilled for the Medical Office Building.

The Medical Clinics Building will be directly attached to the hospital and accessed by turning right once you enter the main entrance. This new building will allow NMC to better meet the community’s needs for access to specialty practices. Our cardiology and pulmonology practices were housed in an undersized renovation of the former medical records department. Obstetrics and gynecology services are found in a separate building from the Family Birth Center. The clinics building will house all these practices and offer flexible space for visiting providers.

As work progresses quickly at the front of campus, we approach a major milestone in early December when NMC reopens the main entrance to the public. The Medical Clinics Building will not be finished at that time, but the December reopening will allow patients and visitors to access our main building through the more familiar and convenient route through our front doors.
