Eleanor Maguire of Swanton was one of nine kids capped as Little Lake Monsters last Friday night at a Vermont Lake Monsters game at Centennial Field. The community program is sponsored by Northwestern Urgent Care and kids applied by answering questions about their commitment to the community, their sportsmanship and their healthy habits. The 2017 list of community all-stars included:

Each young athlete got to live the day in the life of a professional baseball player including participating in a press conference, signing a one-day contract, riding in a limo to the field, taking batting practice with the team, throwing out a ceremonial first pitch and spending an inning in the dugout with the Lake Monsters players.
