From NMC Board President Janet McCarthy:

I am pleased to welcome Gerald “Jerry” Barbini as interim chief executive officer to Northwestern Medical Center.  Jerry joins Dawn Bugbee, NMC’s interim chief administrative officer, who has been at NMC since mid-March.  As I shared in early March, Jerry and Dawn are proven leaders, each with a long track record of helping community hospitals achieve operational and financial success. They will provide outstanding leadership and the resources and support needed to allow NMC to progress and achieve our goals and objectives while the board works with our longtime management partner, QHR Health, to identify a permanent chief executive.

As I welcome Jerry, I want to thank Jill Berry Bowen for her years of devoted service to NMC and our community. Jill brought tireless energy and inspiring vision to her role as Chief Executive Officer.  We are grateful for all her efforts and wish her all the best as she moves on to the next phase of our career. Given the current COVID-19 situation, Jill did not want a celebration in recognition of her service as she wanted everyone’s focus to remain on caring for our patients and working through our ongoing preparations. I am sure you understand how much she cared for everyone on NMC’s team and know that she wishes you each well.

I also want to thank each of you for the ongoing response to COVID-19. Your work has been simply amazing and is appreciated by the Board and the community.  Thank you.
