Rotary Club of St. Albans Supports NMC Staff as Frontline Workers

Northwestern Medical Center (NMC) gratefully accepted a generous donation from the Rotary Club of St. Albans recently, as part of the Rotary’s February fundraiser supporting COVID-19 frontline workers.

“We are so thankful for this donation and the recognition of our staff’s effort in what has been an incredibly difficult year,” said NMC CEO Dr. Dean French.

The $1,000 donation will be used to help NMC thank staff during the annual Hospital Week celebration. This year, NMC’s Hospital week plans include the traditional free staff meal, a virtual 5K, a trivia contest, silent auction and prizes. The Rotary Club’s donation will help pay for the prize package offered to NMC staff which includes random daily drawings and a grand prize!

The donation comes after the Rotary Club raised money throughout the month of February by offering individuals and organizations a chance to “Buy a Heart” in honor of someone specific or for all who serve. The many “sponsors and donors were displayed on red hearts in the window of the downtown Ace Hardware building – a welcome visible sign of the support for frontline works throughout the community.

NMC is just one of the recipients of the funds raised, over $10,000. Some of the other recipients will include the St. Albans Police Department dispatchers, Franklin County Home Health, St. Albans Rehab and Northwestern Counseling and Support Services.
