Northwestern Medical Cente (NMC)’s Laboratory will be closing its off-site urine toxicology collection service, located on Catherine Street in St. Albans, as of December 1, 2020. Individuals in the community will continued to be well served for substance abuse disorder monitoring and treatment by specialized services in the area, including Averhealth’s location at 184 Lake Street in St. Albans.
“The NMC Laboratory established this service in 2015 to fill an unmet need in the community,” said David Blin, NMC’s Director of Diagnostic Services. “We are now able to refocus our resources on our core business as there are capable partners established locally who can meet this specialized need.”
Averhealth has been delivering drug testing programs nationally since 1995. Their goal is “to support our customers as they work to drive sustainable behavior changes” and they work with individuals “to reclaim lives, unite families, and strengthen communities by creating and providing the smartest, most innovative solutions for substance use disorder monitoring.” For more information, visit www.averhealth.com or check out the Averhealth Difference video.
Providers who have previously ordered urine toxicology collection and testing through the NMC Laboratory will now be able to order through Averhealth or other sources. Patients will be informed by their provider how to proceed with their testing.
