This redesign was guided by research, staff feedback, and usability findings to create a more accessible, intuitive, and patient-centered experience. The goal was simple: make it easier for people to find information, access care, and connect with NMC online.

Helping patients navigate the new website?

Employees are often asked where to find common resources. We’ve created a dedicated guide to help patients and visitors understand what’s new and quickly access the information they use most.

Why we made the change

Before the redesign, research showed that patients often struggled to find providers, services, and other important information. Navigation varied across departments, content had grown significantly over time, and the mobile experience created challenges for many users.

Staff also shared that maintaining content could be difficult and time-consuming, making it harder to keep information consistent across the site.

The redesign focused on making information easier to find, easier to understand, and easier to maintain over time.

Making it easier to find the right care

More than a decade of content was reorganized into a clearer structure designed around how people look for healthcare information.

Improvements include:

  • Clearer organization of service lines, key services, and conditions
  • Better connections between providers, services, and locations
  • Improved search functionality
  • More intuitive pathways to care

The goal is to help users find the right information with fewer clicks, less confusion, and less backtracking.

Making information easier to find, read, and use

Many people access healthcare websites from their phones, while others rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers or keyboard navigation.

The new website includes:

  • Mobile-first responsive design
  • Improved readability and visual hierarchy
  • More consistent page layouts
  • Improved heading structure and screen-reader support
  • Accessibility-focused design and content standards

These improvements help create a more inclusive experience for everyone.

Mobile & accessibility

Better visibility for careers & workforce development

Careers, scholarships, workforce development programs, and educational opportunities now have greater visibility throughout the website.

This makes it easier for prospective employees, students, and community members to discover opportunities available through NMC.

Careers & growth

A stronger foundation behind the scenes

The new website isn’t just easier for visitors to use—it is also easier to manage.

The new content management system provides:

  • Reusable content components
  • Greater consistency across departments
  • Shared content that can be updated in one place and reflected across the site
  • Improved governance and content accuracy
  • A stronger foundation for future growth

These improvements help reduce duplication, improve efficiency, and support long-term maintenance.
