In 2019, Dr. Beattie received The Deogracias “Deo” P. Esguerra, MD Service Award. This award recognizes a physician with a passion for excellence and dedication to the patients of our community. Deo Esguerra was known as one of the most caring and passionate physicians on the NMC medical staff. He was a man who loved both the science and the art of medicine. He was both a physician and a surgeon. He cared about people: from the patients he saw, his community, the nursing staff, and all the other physicians in the hospital. Deo’s philosophy was about embracing family, which to him meant everyone around him whether at home or at work. He was inspirational in his passion and commitment to caring and healing.
