After careful consideration and thoughtful discussions, Peter Wright, President and CEO and our Board of Directors have mutually agreed that now is the right time for a leadership transition at Northwestern Medical Center.  

“We thank Peter for his three years of service and for moving us forward,” said Barb Toof, President of NMC’s Board of Directors. 

The Board recognized Peter for his contributions to NMC, including helping establish the New England Collaborative Health Network and helping position NMC as a high value option within Vermont’s healthcare transformation.  

The Board has appointed Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Billings as interim CEO. 

Toof expressed her confidence in Billings, and in the organization’s ability to continue forward with collaborative work.  

Billings said: “I am proud of the care provided at NMC, and grateful for the people who make it possible. I appreciate the opportunity to work with the NMC team in this new way to help us continue to make progress.”
