Staffing Challenges Resulting in Delays for Diagnostic Imaging, Impacts X-Ray Services in Georgia
NMC is seeing delays in the scheduling of Diagnostic Imaging (DI) appointments and the completion of DI studies for our patients. These delays are caused by staffing vacancies in our patient scheduling team, which at times has been reduced to a single staff member.
We are actively recruiting and onboarding new team members, but their training will take time. The DI team is using all available resources to support our patients and referring providers.
At times, we may not be able to answer incoming phone calls and so we have implemented a voicemail system so that we can follow up on inquiries as time allows.
DI is triaging referrals to manage the large volume of imaging requests by using clinical and management staff to help in an all-hands-on-deck approach. The reallocation of staff also means NMC will not be offering walk-in X-Ray service at Georgia or St. Albans locations until further notice. X-Rays will be available only by appointment in St. Albans.
We understand the impact of these delays on patients. We appreciate your understanding and patience while we implement new workflows and address the challenges of the current situation with the limited staffing we have available.
