NMC Welcomes New Chief Nursing Officer

Northwestern Medical Center is pleased to welcome Deanna Orfanidis, MS, RN as the organization’s new Chief Nursing Officer.

Orfanidis comes to NMC from Mount Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor, Vermont – a member of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock System. She served at Mount Ascutney as the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and started at NMC in January.

“Deanna is an experienced nurse, a strong listener, and a proven leader,” said Jill Berry Bowen, RN, NMC’s Chief Executive Officer. “She brings a strong clinical voice and a shared governance approach to NMC. We are so pleased to have her join our team.”

Orfanidis previously served in a senior nursing leadership role at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, responsible for multiple departments and service lines. Her areas of expertise include nursing strategic planning, shared governance, recruitment and retention, staff engagement, patient/family experience, quality patient outcomes, nursing’s role in information technology, evidenced based hospital design and regulatory compliance.

“I am very pleased to join a healthcare organization that has a demonstrated record in high quality patient care and staff members who are so highly engaged in creating outstanding patient and family experiences,” said Orfanidis. “I’m excited to join the leadership team and look forward to working with the nursing staff to enhance their ongoing efforts and collaborate with them going forward.”
