Maria fell in love with Vermont as an undergraduate at the University of Vermont. After several years in Maine working for the CDC and earning her Master of Public Health at the University of New England, she returned to UVM to become a nurse practitioner. She has spent the last 10 years at the University of Vermont Medical Center working in General and Trauma Surgery. Last year, she joined the NMC hospitalist group in a per diem role and was drawn to the team mentality and community/patient focus of NMC. She is enthusiastic about joining Northwestern Associates in Surgery team! When not at the hospital, she enjoys traveling, skiing, biking, running and being with her family.
