Welcome to Joint Care

Joint care and joint replacements are one of our specialties at Northwestern Orthopaedics. We offer preventive care to improve balance, prevent falls, support the joints using kinesiotaping, and ensure the body is aligned through postural restoration.

If you are in need of a total joint replacement, our Rehab Services team works closely with the Orthopaedic team on pre-operative education. The teams have seamless and efficient communication about total joint patients who may need follow-up therapy or to be seen in the Orthopaedic office.

For injuries or chronic conditions where intervention is needed, we can provide surgery, including total joint replacement of the hip, shoulder and knee. We work closely together as a team to deliver physical therapy and education to help patients prepare for surgery, top-notch surgery, private patient room recovery, and follow-up therapy. Our delivery of care is seamless and proactive.

Meet our Nurse Navigator

Leanne Medor, RN, is our Nurse Navigator for patients undergoing total joint replacements. Leanne is here to help you throughout the process of a joint replacement—she is your main point of contact and follows you through every step of your care. She helps arrange pre-surgery physical therapy, education about the surgery, scheduling, and post-surgery follow up. One component of total joint replacement care at NMC is an in-person class to help answer your questions ahead of time, helping you feel at ease and prepared for a successful surgery. Leanne will help coordinate that class for you and provide any other help you may need.
