In a delicious and affordable improvement effort, we launched a Room Service program for patients in January of 2010. Not just for hotels anymore, the concept of adding hospitality services like Room Service to hospitals has been gaining popularity in recent years. The concept behind these services is to make patients feel more comfortable and reduce stress. Patients will rest and heal better because they are getting the nutrition their bodies need.
Our chef team has worked in cooperation with the hospital’s dietitians to develop a total of eight menus (including a children’s menu) designed to meet the specific dietary needs of patients in a hospital, while still providing tasty, satisfying food. Patients order their meals when they are hungry, and have a wide variety of foods from which to choose. For patients who need assistance placing food orders due to dietary restrictions or other reasons, a Menu Host will visit the patients’ rooms to help make food selections. Within 40 minutes of an order, a freshly prepared meal will be delivered.

We have recruited an energetic Concierge team that focuses directly on providing personalized service. The Concierges work with our staff and volunteers to greet people arriving at the hospital and take great pride in helping with anything (feasible) which answers the question, “What would be wonderful for our patients and their families?” Our Concierges commonly help people to their cars, help resolve issues before they become problems, arrange for special birthday or anniversary celebrations for those in the hospital, read with patients, support families in difficult situations, book lodging for loved ones from out of town, and much, much more.
