Retaining Wall Going Up in front of Medical Office Building

Stonework is progressing on the retaining wall in front of the Medical Office Building and crews have backfilled the earth near the wall. This retaining structure allows for a larger, two-way road and preserves the drop-off lane under the building’s canopy.

Along with the work on the wall itself, crews will soon work on the installation of curbing, ramps, stairs and sidewalks in front of the Medial Office Building (MOB). The final touches for the building will be paving the parking lots and roadway in mid-November.

Building opens Monday, November 20 with Northwestern Primary Care, Northwestern Urgent Care, the Northwestern Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Center and the Outpatient Lab moving the weekend prior to that opening date. Patients of any of those practices or patients coming to NMC for bloodwork will register in a centralized space in the lobby of the MOB.

The building connects to the main hospital through a glass corridor and through the nearby Medical Clinics Addition which is the home to Northwestern OB/GYN, Northwestern Cardiology and Northwestern Pulmonology.
