About Program

This strength training course has been designed for those over the age of 50 to reduce the effects of osteoporosis, but participants of all ages are welcome. After age 40, we begin to lose a half pound of muscle mass each year. By age 65, an inactive person has lost as much as one third of their muscle mass leading to frailty and increased risk of osteoporosis. Strength training can rebuild lost muscle and strength, while increasing bone density. Through a series of simple chair based or standing weight bearing exercises, you will build bone and muscle strength. This is not an aerobics fitness program. Participant must have had a physical exam in the past year and will need their physician’s approval to participate.
