 Position Title: Surgical Services Technician, #10-71
 |
| Department: | Surgical Services |
| Position Description: | Provides safe, basic nursing care to patients in the Ambulatory/Outpatient Department, within the scope of LNA practice, under direct supervision of an LPN or RN. This includes personal hygiene care, assists with feeding patients when necessary to meet the patient’s dietary needs, monitoring patients medical status and assisting with bed mobility and transfers as indicated. Performs reception and clerical functions on the Ambulatory/Outpatient Department. The tech role has elements of an expanded LNA role, as well as a secretary role, and offers an opportunity for cross training. Therefore, the major duties and responsibilities shift depending on the amount of time spent on each role. |

Status: Full Time | Shift: Day |
Shift Time Schedule: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., other shifts as needed. |  |
Days: No on-call duty required. No weekends required. |
| Salary Range: | Minimum: $11.52 Midpoint: Maximum: $12.67 |

 | Education: | High school graduate or equivalent. |
 | Experience: | 18 months experience as an LNA in a hospital setting. Previous clinical experience in medical/surgical unit preferred. Computer experience preferred. Orientation to the hospital and staff. |
 | Special Skills: | Knowledge of basic terminology. Communicates clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing. Has the ability to organize and prioritize multiple competing demands. Has an approachable, friendly demeanor. |
 | License Required: | Current licensure in as a Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of Vermont. |
