Position Title: Medical Technologist, #10-37

Department:Laboratory
Position Description: This generalist position performs clinical testing and associated duties in all Laboratory sections. Processing of specimens in the assigned Laboratory Section following written procedures and documenting action taken on the Laboratory Information System. Additional functions include daily and weekly cleaning of equipment and work area, conducting Quality Control procedures on analytical tests, instruments, reagents, media and other products, calibrating of instrument in designated area and complying with established Safety and Infection Control procedures. The Technologist works independently, organizing work to meet job requirements. The position involves effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Status:Temporary Part TimeShift:Variable
Shift Time Schedule:A vailability to work all shifts required.Average Weekly Hours:20 hrs/wk
Days:No on-call duty reqiured. Two weekend shifts per month.
Salary Range:Minimum:$21.11Midpoint:Maximum:$24.81
The above wage range reflects the minimum and maximum hiring range for this position.

    Qualifications:
    Education:Nationally recognized certification credentials or equivalent. Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or a baccalaureate in a related science with approved Clinical Laboratory Scientist training is preferred.
    Experience:Non-traditional route to established skill level may be accepted after review of education and experience.
    Special Skills:Medical Technologist must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
