| Position Description: | The Medical Assistant performs patient screening care under the direction of the Medical Director/On-site provider including, but not limited to, EKG’s. PFT’s, vision testing, venipuncture, audiograms, urine and breath collections, nebulizer treatments and pulse oximetry. Independently and accurately enters data into electronic medical record (EMR) and extracts summarized data and other reports. Trains others on use of EMR. Performs numerous clerical and tracking duties, including ordering and maintaining medical supplies, and medications for in-office medication dispensing system. Takes patient histories. Participates in process improvements. |

Days: On-call duty required as needed. Every other Saturday required, and possibly some Sundays. Holiday, evening and weekend work required. |

 | Education: | P-16; High school graduate or equivalent required.
P-20; Graduate of a Medical Assistant program required. This may be substituted with a minimum of five years experience performing medical assistant duties in an applicable medical setting with no training needed in the specific skills necessary to perform the duties required. |
 | Experience: | P-16; Three years experience in an applicable medical setting preferred. Experience with venipuncture preferred.
P-20; Experience with venipuncture required. Able to attain certification as a urine drug screen collector, breath alcohol technician, hearing conservationist and NIOSH spirometry technician at the clinic discretion. Previous experience with electronic medical records preferred. |
 | Special Skills: | Excellent computer, interpersonal and organizational skills required. Able to problem solve and suggest improvements to work processes. Must perform work with a high level of accuracy. |

Holiday, evening and weekend work required. Occasional on-site work required at client companies. May require occasional overnight travel. Work at two locations required; Northwestern Occupational Health in St. Albans and Northwestern Walk-In Clinic in Georgia.
Medical Assistant P-16 Hiring Range: $13.16 - $14.99, Medical Assistant P-20 Hiring Range: $15.18 - $17.84.
