Position Title: HIM Manager / Privacy Officer, #09-19

Department:Health Information Management
Position Description: The Health Information Manager oversees the HIM department including personnel and resources which support proper maintenance of all medical records (both paper and electronic) consistent with the standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organization, Medicare Conditions of Participation, HIPAA Privacy and Hospital Policies. Serves as Privacy Officer for organization.

Shift Time Schedule:Primarily Days.Average Weekly Hours:40 hrs/wk
Days:Occasional weekends. No on-call duty required.
The above wage range reflects the minimum and maximum hiring range for this position.

    Qualifications:
    Education:Bachelor’s Degree and completion of an accredited training program for Medical Terminology required.
    Experience:Minimum of 5 years experience in Health Information Management. Three years experience in a management or supervisory role required. Work related knowledge and extensive experience with administration of HIPAA regulations pertaining to privacy and Health Information Management.

    Certification as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) by the American Health Information Management Association preferred.
