“Keeping Workers Healthy in our Community”
Northwestern Occupational Health (NOH) was created by Northwestern Medical Center (NMC) in 1999 in response to requests from area business and industry. Our services, led by Dr. Verne Backus, a Board Certified Occupational Medicine Physician, and backed by the quality and resources of NMC, are specially designed and customized to meet the unique occupational health needs of employers and their workforce.
As the region’s only hospital-based program, the NOH clinic offers a complete range of services and is located in the Cobblestone Health Commons on the campus of NMC. The clinic is open Monday- Friday 7:30AM – 4:30PM. After-hours care is provided by NMC’s Emergency Dept., and follow-up care is coordinated with NOH the following business day for those employers who chose that service. NOH also has a presence at Northwestern Walk In Clinic in Geogia. For more information on services available at this site, visit the Northwestern Walk In Clinic website.
NOH works closely with clients to understand their work environment, provide early and safe return-to-work for injured workers, and identify and assist them with all of their occupational health needs.
To contact our clinic, please call (802) 524-1223, email nohinfo@nmcinc.org, or fax (802) 524-1095.
