Open Doors Mural Gallery… “My husband passed away in March of this year at Northwestern Medical Center. During his final illness, he was in the intensive care unit. As I looked out of the window of his room which faced south all I could see was a blank ugly brick wall. I imagined how great it would be to have a group of school children paint a mural out there to cheer up the patients and their families…”
The paragraph above is excerpted from a letter sent to the Open Doors program by Donna DeGrechie of St. Albans, proposing they consider a mural at NMC. Thanks to the suggestion, a team of students from the St. Albans Town Educational Center and the St. Albans City Elementary School completed a mural for the enjoyment of our patients and families.
