| A Hospitalist is a physician, typically an Internal Medicine Specialist, who takes care of patients when they are in the hospital. The primary care physicians in the community and the Hospitalists work very closely together before, during, and after admission to ensure quality paitent care. Becasue the Hospitalists do not maintain office practicies, they can focus all their attention on patients inside the hospital. |
