Benefits of VolunteeringBesides the possibility of living longer, volunteers often report gaining satisfaction from performing meaningful tasks in the service of others and enjoying the companionship of other volunteers, employees, and patients in the workplace.
As members of the NMC Family, volunteers are invited to participate in the events organized by the NMC Activities Committee and are invited to all NMC special events, including the Holiday Party. An annual volunteer recognition luncheon is held to honor volunteers for their hours of service to NMC.
If working during a mealtime shift, volunteers are invited to eat free of charge in the NMC Cafeteria/Courtyard Cafe.
An additional perk is available for volunteers who have volunteered for 1 year and have accumulated 75 hours of service: access to the hospital pharmacy and reduced-price over-the-counter and prescription medications.
