H1N1 Vaccine Available at Northwestern Walk In Clinic
Georgia, Vt-- The H1N1 vaccine is now available to the general public at Northwestern Walk-In Clinic in Georgia. No appointment is necessary, with preferred times for vaccination being 7am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This vaccine is for those age 6 months and older. There is an administration fee for the vaccination and insurances can be billed. Vaccination continues to be available through Franklin County Home Health Agency clinics and Northwestern Occupational Health is now offering local employers the opportunity to have onsite clinics for their staff.
With H1N1 vaccine now widely available and months of flu season still ahead, the Vermont Department of Health is encouraging all Vermonters older than 6 months who have not yet been vaccinated to get the nasal spray or flu shot now.
“If you haven't been vaccinated yet, now is the time,” said Health Commissioner Wendy Davis, MD. “We still want to see everyone who is at high risk for serious illness to get vaccinated, but there is now enough vaccine available for anyone who wants it. The 2009 H1N1 flu hasn't gone away, and could come back in force. Flu is unpredictable and the vaccine is a great match for the H1N1 flu strain that is still circulating.”
Northwestern Walk-In Clinic is conveniently located at 927 Ethan Allen Highway in Georgia, south of Exit 18 of I-89. In addition to walk-In care, x-Ray, mammography, and physical therapy services are available at that location in Georgia. For more information, call 524-8911 or visit www.NorthwesternWalkinClinic.org
