There is always a physician on duty in our Emergency Department, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our Emergency Department is very busy, seeing over 27,000 visits annually.
For patients who require immediate attention but who do no have true emergencies, NMC offers an Intermediate Care Service from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. daily to accommodate the higher volume of non-emergent visits during those times. Charges for Intermediate Care are identical to Emergency Department charges; however, patient waiting times should be less as Intermediate Care patients will not have to wait for emergent care necessary for higher priority patients in the Emergency Department.
