NMC Welcomes First Baby

Northwestern Medical Center is happy to present Camdon Alexander, the first baby of 2016 born in our Family Birth Center. First babies are typically announced in the first week in January, but Camdon needed special care from the University of Vermont Medical Center’s neonatal intensive care unit, and we just recently caught up with Camdon and his mom at home.

Camdon was born about four weeks early, and had some difficulty with fluid in his lungs, said his mom, Sarah Kane who lives in Sheldon. Shortly after his birth on January 1, Camdon was transferred to UVMMC but Sarah stayed a short while longer as she recovered. She said that being away from her new baby for even that short period of time was incredibly tough, and she is thrilled to now be home with her healthy little boy.
